Who We Are & What We Do

The Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation Philippines, Inc. (NCFPI) is a non-profit organization registered with the Philippines' Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). It is also a registered social development agency under the Department of Social Welfare Department (DSWD).

NCFPI has been inspired by the ideals of the Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundations (www.nncf.org & www.lovemakeswhole.org) established in Taiwan and in the United States of by Dr. M. Samuel Noordhoff, a renowned American surgeon and philanthropist.

Vision

NCFPI envisions to make comprehensive and craniofacial care accessible to Filipinos by empowering Filipino professionals in the delivery of competent treatment that meet international standards for cleft lip or cleft palate patients and other patients with craniofacial abnormalities.

Mission

NCFPI aims to establish sustainable craniofacial centers in the Philippines lead by teams of medical and allied medical specialists and professionals who are equipped with excellent training, adequate equipment, and other resources needed to provide world-class craniofacial services to Filipinos especially the indigents.

Core Values

The motto of the foundation is "Love makes whole".  NCFPI commits itself to the following core values:

• Committed Teamwork: specialists are available weekly and dependable any time to resolve medical problems faced by patients
• Comprehensive & Continuing Care: patients receive cleft care and treatment in a multi-disciplinary setting from birth till adulthood
• Competent Practice: professional treatment that meet international standards are done including research works and re-assessment of treated patients
• Family-oriented Assistance: involves the family especially the parents in the treatment process of their children
• Camaraderie: promotes a cheerful, positive, supportive, and educational environment in its craniofacial centers

About Dr. M. Samuel Noordhoff

Dr. M. Samuel Noordhoff is a world leader in the field of cleft lip and palate surgery. He practiced for more than 40 years in Taiwan where he had been instrumental in the establishment of several hospitals in Taipei. There, he was a key player in the development of a world-class plastic surgery department and craniofacial team at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital.  After NCFPI-doctors completed their trainings at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, he soon encouraged them to establish Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation Philippines, Incorporated (NCFPI).  Through his advice and guidance, Dr. Noordhoff continues to give the foundation's Executive Board the impetus towards excellence in one's work and loving concern for patients in NCFPI.
