Dr. Samuel M. Noordhoff Sr.

Dr. Samuel M. Noordhoff Sr., a renowned American missionary doctor and surgeon, founded the Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation (NCF) in Taiwan in 1989 as a non-profit organization to help cleft patients who could not afford complete and best treatment. Beginning in 1999, the Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation began expanding its operations from Taiwan to the Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, and China. Teams of dedicated professionals in these developing countries were trained and became the seed doctors of the NCF-inspired organizations in their respective countries. NCF continues to expand their reach to ensure the best possible care for each child in Asia and beyond.

NCF has a staff dedicated to the care of the children with clefts and craniofacial problems. NCF has established programs to monitor each patient from childhood through his adulthood. It helps the cleft beneficiaries obtain surgery and continuing medical care, speech therapy, psychiatric help and family support.
